Elephant Lake consists of a large variety of fish including: Walleye, Crappie, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern. Elephant Lake is just 3 miles east of Blackduck lake and 10 miles north of Pelican Lake - two more excellent fishing lakes. Access Voyageurs National Park at Kabetogama Lake or Crane Lake, your cabin is centrally located between both access points.

Elephant Lake is a good lake to use leeches or night crawlers for walleyes. If you are using artificial lures, red or fluorescent orange work best. If you are going to use other colors, dark ones work well too. When fishing crappies, chartreuse works well. Smallmouth bass can be caught just about anywhere on the lake. The same is true with northerns.
